Simon Plourde Youth Ministries LeaderOur New Fire Youth Group is led by Simon Plourde.  They have worship, prayer, devotions, games and snacks as well as various other activities and fundraising efforts.  Youth Group meetings are held with the Church of the Prince of Peace Youth Group at 922 Main Street in Sanford in the lower Mid Town Mall on every Friday except for the 2nd Friday of each month.  On the 2nd Friday of each month Youth Group is held here at the church.  At the Church of the Prince of Peace, Youth Group is held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.  On the 2nd Friday of the month, it is held here at Grace Family Church from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Once every year New Fire goes on a trip to the Northern New England District of the Assemblies of God Youth Convention.  They spend a lot of time and effort raising money for this phenomenal and rewarding annual three-day event.

Fundraising for New Fire

bullet

Clynk bags are in the church foyer for bottles and cans, or just call Simon at 651-1196 if you would like him to pick up your cans and/or bottles.

If anyone in the church or if you know of someone that needs yard work or any type of housework, we would love to help out.  Donations (whatever you can afford) We want this to not just be a fundraiser but a ministry as well.

Weekly Verse

Weekly verse:
James 3:9 "With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness."

How often do we say negative or hurtful things toward someone?  The tongue is so powerful and many times I wish I had never said certain things to people.  God created us all, and it must make Him so sad when we speak negatively towards people.  As Christians we need to ask God to tame our tongue (because James 3:8 says "no man can tame the tongue").
It's all part of just being a good witness to people.  We are supposed to be representing Christ and if we don't, how can we lead people to him?
